Terms & Conditions: By completing this form, you agree to our Party & Workshop Terms & Conditions.
Please note: For Adult Parties, your booking will be marked as ‘Pending’. For obvious reasons, we like to double-check that your day and time don’t overlap with other party types (e.g., a kids’ party 🤣). We will email you to confirm your booking once we’ve double-checked. If we can’t accommodate your booking, we can suggest other times or return your deposit.
Also, when we’ve confirmed your date, we will email you a booking form so you can let us know how many people are coming and which designs they would like to make on the day.
Do I need to be crafty or artistically talented to take a workshop?
Absolutely NOT! Our workshops provide instruction in a relaxed environment. Just bring your DIY attitude, a creative mind and a willingness to learn, and you will create a project you will be proud of! Our friendly team of experts guide you through step by step and give you any support you may need along the way.
Do you cater for everyone?
We absolutely try to! Our workshops are suitable from age 6 to adults. We do have options for younger children too. Under the age of 6 will need 1-1 help by an accompanied adult.
We also try to cater for those with additional needs as we firmly believe in inclusion and everyone can take part! If you would like further information with what’s involved or how we can be adapted for your need, send us an email info@thetwistedknot.co.uk.
Our workshop is wheelchair friendly and has a disabled toilet on site.
Do you cater for Team Building & Schools & Extra Curricular Groups?
Yes we do. For smaller groups and community groups we recommend coming to our workshop based at Marshgate. For larger groups and school over 30 we provide mobile workshops and will come to you! All we need is the space and we will deliver our paint and wood skills workshop. please see the schools and groups page on the website for more information. Contact us with your requirements and we can adapt our workshops to suit you. We can even provide weekdays and evening sessions!
How long does a workshop last?
The length of each workshop depends on the type of workshop booked in. However the typical workshop lasts 2-3 hours.
Can I make more than one project at a workshop?
Due to time and limited places on our workshops, we limit each person to creating one project at a time during a scheduled workshop. Our workshops take approximately 2-3 hours. On quieter times, you may be able to do more than one but we don’t recommend it on your first visit!
What's included in a workshop?
All the materials needed to create your project is included in the price of the project. All you need to bring is yourself and an attitude to get creative. You will be guided through the whole process by a member of the Team.
What does it cost?
The prices vary depending on which project you choose to make. They begin at £18 for a 30cm board and can go up to £45 for a slatted clock or a height ruler/1200x200mm sign. A complete custom design will have a £5 design fee too! You always just pay for your projects, there are no hidden costs.
Do I need to book or can I drop in?
Our Marshgate workshop will have set ‘Open days’ where you are welcome to drop in... although this is always limited to space, so we recommend that you book to ensure you’re not disappointed!
If it is a larger group, please contact us for a private party booking!
Ultimately, if you know when you want to come, let us know!! 😉
How many can fit per workshop session?
In the workshop we can cater for up to 30 people at a time.
Do I have to pick my project ahead of time?
Yes please. Project selection and customisation information for your project is required at the time of booking on our on-line registration form. Please be sure to double-check your spelling and information to ensure your project stencil and materials will be ready for you at the start of your workshop. We will customised any stencils ahead of time and add any personalisations required, for any designs or quotes you cannot see please get in touch and we will happily help bring you ideas to life.
If you’re attending a party, you will need to select your designs via a private link a week before the event.
Do I need to tell you in advance what colours and stain I want to use on a wood project?
No you don’t, all we need before you arrive is your project and design choice The rest is for you to decide here in the workshop. We have a very wide selection of stains, colours and finishes to choose from, all materials are supplied.
What do I wear?
We provide aprons for the session, however we do recommend wearing something you wouldn’t mind getting paint on just in case :-), The workshop can get very busy and messy. That’s the idea of the workshop. Our paints are water based however can stain if not removed straight away with a damp cloth.
We also recommend that long hair is tied up and have a think about footwear (you don’t want black stain on your white trainers!!!)
What facilities do you have?
We have a small kitchen area available to make hot drinks and cold drinks.
We have two toilets in the workshop, one being a disabled toilet. The workshop is also wheelchair friendly.
What about Food, Drinks and Alcohol?
In the workshop we have a small kitchen area where tea, coffee & juice is available.
You are welcome to bring any of your own food & drinks for your workshop time, please also bring any cups/ plates you will need.
Alcohol – legal age, providing you are welcome to bring your own alcoholic drinks to be enjoyed responsibly during your time in the workshop. This will be monitored by staff throughout your workshop experience to ensure health and safety standards are maintained.
